Beautiful glaze,,stunning on MFW slip over N21,,quite different from the matte glaze in his book but really love this one

  1. Hello and thanks for this website. It's very helpful. I have a question for you. I'm an amateur potter but I've made many glaze recipes so I know that Bailey's OR1 is unusual in the way it settles on the bottom immediately after being stirred. I haven't fired it yet but I suspect it won't turn out well. Am I missing something?

    1. Hi Sheila, the settling problem is often due to lack of clay and one can add a small amount of bentonite ie 2-3% but it must be added to the dry materials and stirred in well before adding to water. Sorry for late reply but I have been moving house. I hope this helps Caroline
